And the process of trying to solve it can teach you stuff. There is a high chance that you wont use that stuff outside of that problem but hey, now you know it.

It highly depends on your definition of child. Because technically a person is a teenager and not a child starting from age 12. And I learned English which I didn't speak nearly as well as now and I learned a little bit of German not too much but still something.
